2011-09-02 06:32:00 | Is this a case of "throw the technology in to cloud the issue", or is it an honest attempt? If the latter how do you rate it's efficacy (www.thefreedictionary.com)? "The Electoral Commission has launched an interactive website to simplify the electoral system referendum that will take place in conjunction with the national election on November 26. Voters will be asked whether the current Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) system should be retained, and if not, which system should replace it. The choices for alternative systems are First Past the Post, Preferential Voting, Single Transferrable Vote, and Supplementary Member. Voters who may not understand what each system means are invited to visit the website and answer a series of questions about what they feel should be prioritised in an election system. After ranking these questions in order of importance, the user is shown a diagram outlining how they answered and showing which voting system is most appropriate for each answer" To try it go here (www.referendum.org.nz) (you might have to right click that and choose Open in a new window/tab) Happy clicking/sliding

2011-09-02 07:05:00 | I had 3 results on MMP and 3 results on FPP, I guess Im still undecided  | Iantech (16386) | |
2011-09-02 07:36:00 | FPP/MMP even spread here. | ubergeek85 (131) | |
2011-09-03 01:20:00 | It's a mix of STV and FPP for me it seems. Interesting. | george12 (7) | |
2011-09-03 03:00:00 | All of mine were FPP, which I don't suport. The questions are simplistic and misleading. Whatever they spent on that moronic site was money wasted.

2011-09-03 07:33:00 | Well, these comments are partly why I posted it. It we be interesting to see what results a fairly large sample of results would produce. Indeed, is the"advice" that the results give going to be so bland that it'll leave people more confused and undecided than ever? | tuiruru (12277) | |
2011-09-04 06:10:00 | Weird. My preference is STV but the site reckons FPP and MMP are for me. | Winston001 (3612) | |
2011-09-04 06:37:00 | Only one of mine was MMP. The rest split. My preference when the voting system was changed 'way back then' was STV. It hasn't changed. Incidentally, at the time, one politician made a remark that the MMP lobby group was well organised and knew that a lot of people could easily be swayed. That couldn't happen now, could it? ;)
