| 1228826 | 2011-09-06 08:04:00 | Dunno whether I just heard it right on 3 News' weather, but I think they said he's all of 30km from where they dropped him off!! :waughh: Then they zoomed out from the map and you realise what a long swim the poor bugger's got! :crying | tuiruru (12277) | ||
| 1228827 | 2011-09-06 09:29:00 | It seems that penguins spend very little time on land for the first 5 years of their life. How do they sleep at sea, and how do they breath in a rough sea while asleep? |

How do they sleep at sea, and how do they breath in a rough sea while asleep? Good questions, that's why I decided to be a human. I can sleep in my bed with little chance of a shark eating me. |

So, if you decided tto be human, Happy Feet decided to be a penguin, and then decided to come here....... so maybe we should have left him as he was. Is this hwere we start talking about reincarnation? |

Yes and we all find this appalling, and yet every year millions of dollars are thrown at issues like this to try and resolve things - this is a long term change that is needed culturally and you are never going to get all the people to change no matter what you do and that's just life. It is good that people have taken an interest in the penguin story and it is a good news story that gives a little ray of sunshine in some otherwise pretty dark places and gives some of the nation a little lift from the doom and gloom. So yes you are right its not good people die and go unnoticed, that kids get victimised through violence and worse, but please get it all in perspective and lighten up....you don't think the people that get upset about the penguin don't get upset about the rest ? Doubt it.... |

| 1228831 | 2011-09-07 01:01:00 | @Globe The thread is about Happy Feet. Do you want WINZ to call on every pensioner say once a week to make sure they are alive Or every landlord to knock on their tenants once a week to make sure they are still alive ? |

| 1228833 | 2011-09-07 02:00:00 | It seems that penguins spend very little time on land for the first 5 years of their life. How do they sleep at sea, and how do they breath in a rough sea while asleep? Millions of them seem to have developed the knack. I imagine they just float on top of the water and doze. It would be a life-limiting move for them to sleep through a shark/seal/Orca attack... |

Go back, read the entire thread, work out what my stance is, then get off your high horse and eat some humble pie...please. |
