| 1228262 | 2011-09-02 07:18:00 | Well, by keeping a copy you no longer have to watch or D/L those unwanted commercials on the host site, and they will vigorously defend their right to force their advertising crap upon you. It's kind of a carrot on a stick held before a donkey. The carrot (the desired media file) makes the donkey (us) go to their site, where like it or not we pull the revenue wagon by generating views of sponsored ads. Without desirable media they don't get our visits and the resultant ad revenue, but if we eat too many carrots at home we won't bother visiting their stinkng site any more. Personally, I find the likes of uTube very quickly tiring. THere's a very high proportion of garbage media that just isn't worth the time or the bandwidth. |

But then they don't have to use their bandwidth supplying us with the file 50 times over, but I suppose they wouldn't save enough through that compared to what they gain from the advertising. |
