Here's how (www.youtube.com) they went about raising their market place position in Korea.

Or read about it here. (www.instantfundas.com(Instant+Fundas ))

One up for the Smartphones...

1228507 2011-09-03 23:36:00 Sure it'd work here. We'd just have to build massive parking buildings at the stations so Kiwis flocking to the stations in their cars would have somewhere to park while using their smartphones to shop on the concourse ....

Stations? As in trains? I remember them from England but.... Still, I suppose Len Brown could use it as extra leverage for his master plan....!

1228509 2011-09-04 01:56:00 I see this as a variant to the Internet. You can already shop on line. Bobh (5192)

True, but this is different, as it involves people who are out and about already and waiting for a train - so they can use time that would otherwise have been wasted.

I haven't been to Woolies Online recently but when I tried it a few years ago it was slow and clunky and definitely not easy to use. It may have improved, but one of the key selling points of online shopping is the delivery of all the goods. But delivery is only any good if there is someone at home to receive the delivery....

If you read the article (second link) it says they can also get it delivered to them at work. But, I suppose, They still have to carry it home on the train. Unless it's something like a lunch....Tho', I suppose there might be a "Minimum purchase value" for free delivery.

The other point is it raised Tesco's market positioning considerably.

1228512 2011-09-04 23:18:00 A lot of other countries are doing something similar, friend was in Sweden recently and said he heard they are looking at phasing out money and doing it all by smartphone by 2016 gary67 (56)
1228513 2011-09-05 00:04:00 So, who will supply the free Smartphone? The govt, the bank, creditcard companies, telcos? Does it mean I'l have to pay more for the privilege of spending my own money? tuiruru (12277)
