104 1998-09-01 00:21:00 Thanks to May Absolute Beginners column, I can now send faxes. However, I have tried to send a fax to my number and the phone just keeps ringing. Do I have to have my computer switched on for it to receive? Guest (0)
105 2006-01-28 01:13:00 I have used norton fax program and you will have to turn on the computer to receive faxes, the same as turning a fax machine to receive. lightfoot (39)
106 2006-01-28 01:26:00 It is possible to make a setting in the BIOS to turn the computer on when the phone rings, if your modem has that option. I don't know how long a FAX sender would wait while the OS booted and started the FAX programme.

Otherwise, like a real FAX machine, it has to be turned on all the time so it can answer the phone.

Or did nobody notice the date?

Perhaps the answer arrived by fax?
