| 698 | 1998-10-30 05:16:00 | Hi, I have been given two Novell NE2000 Network cards and am trying to connect a 386 to a 486 both running 3.11 for workgroups. I went out and bought some thin ethernet cable and installed the cards on both computers. On the 386 everything seems ok. On the 486 on booting windows I get the following messages. Your Network adapter MS$NE2CLONE is not working Error loading protocol number 0 Error 58: Rerun setup What's going wrong and how do I fix this? Some other info... I have used the same logon name and password on both machines. I have just plugged the cable into each card should I be using T connectors with terminators on the ends? The IRQ's on the 486 are fairly sparse and I had to settle for IRQ 10. Do I need to set this by jumpers on the card. What about hex addresses etc. Here's hoping you can help. |
