i am playing with a 386dx40 (as some people do), and have encountered a problem with the floppy drive. this drive has a two position switch that i assume sets the floppy as dive a or b (shows as 1 or 0). when the switch is set to 'b' i receive 2 floppy drive icons in win3.11 with the floppy working okay as 'b'. when set to 'a', i receive 1 icon yet the floppy doesn't work properly giving me errors and, foe example, when booting of dos6.22 disk 1 it reads the initial setup then decides there is no disk inserted when going to load the program.. ?? any ideas welcome. |
