846	1998-11-20 02:09:00	For info received pack of 6 CD?s of a genealogy programme. 5 run OK straight out of shrink wrap. Last one gave message Run-time error ?57? Device I/O error ?H:vri-bi98\about\vri-bi98.bmp? Checked errant disc for cleanliness, found very small ?grease spot on outer edge of shiny side of disc. Removed using gentle breath & wiping with a very soft tissue from centre out. Tried disc & all systems go. With vinyl records the method of running the tissue round the edge is a no no for CD?s, you do wipe from centre out as a scratch running round with the data stream results in the laser beam servo system losing its track.
