| 793 | 1998-11-14 21:19:00 | Well, I got the fancy new mouse a couple of months ago and installed the drivers from the diskette (MouseWare v 7.5). The Install program restarted Windows fine and I set up all the wheels and gizmos without incident. The next day Windows refused to boot. An error message came up in DOS '[something, can't remember] - You must restart Windows.' And the PC was frozen solid. I restored the registry, and everythinhg was OK (even though Windows was still using lmouse.drv in the system.ini file). Well, I've tried everything. Mouses in and out, drivers in and out. Every time I *cold* boot, I get the same error in the DOS screen. *Re-starting Windows* doesn't cause a problem. I've also tried downloading MouseWare 8 and installing that but it also fails. Windows thinks I've got a standard MS mouse now but I'd love to have access to all the extras that come with the Logitech mouse. Any ideas? |
