| 1255272 | 2012-01-20 23:36:00 | Yesterday early my Telecom Xtra broadband went totally screwy with pages only partially loading and yahoo email failing. Hadn't seen the mega fuss news so did not jump to any conclusions. Ran speedtest.net and have a lovely jpg of the worst ever - Ping = 218ms Download = 0.34Mbps Upload = Fail ran this test many times after reboots of both PC and router with wildy variable rewsults mainly fails. Called Telecom and the help desk put me through the usual bolox until we ran the telecom speedtest (several times) which also replicated the same varying fails. He disappeared for 10 min and eventuall returned to say no other reports of problems and for me to reboot and have a good day. Throughout the morning the matter slowly resolved itself. I suspect someone told Telecom overnight to pull the plug on uploads (due to the attack on some overseas sites) and in doing so the fiddler screwed up some other areas...or am I just being paranoid? Broadband now back to normal. |
