2011-09-07 11:01:00 | I'm thinking of getting one of these, just on Prepay plan at the moment, maybe monthly account plan later. Anyone got one? www.vodafone.co.nz LL

2011-09-07 21:37:00 | Screens a bit small in my opinion. I wouldn't look at anything under 3.2" these days.. | paulw (1826) | |
2011-09-07 22:12:00 | I've had a play with them, we've got in about 20 at work. HUGE improvement over the previous 845 device, the screen on them is decent, relatively sharp, nice colors. It fits in my hand quite nicely, the rounded edges and the weight, it felt very *very* nice compared with my Galaxy S, which felt like a huge slab by comparison. My workmate with slightly larger fingers found it a bit of a pain to type on. I didn't notice personally, though I'm a little more used to working on a touchscreen. You can also flip the device into landscape mode at any time and input that way, which increases the size of your keyboard significantly. Battery performance is decent, but nothing outstanding. It lasts better than my Galaxy S though for sure! Be prepared to charge it basically every night, you may get away with a couple of nights if you do bugger all with it. It's running Android-2.2 so it's *infinitely* more snappy than the 845 which was on 2.1. Overall, it's a "good" phone in pretty much all areas, but not exceptional. It's the price though that makes it a real winner, and its an excellent entry-level phone, really can't beat it to be honest! For a low-cost phone, or a first smart-phone / Android phone, it's perfect!

2011-09-07 22:49:00 | Thanks for your evaluation of the phone Chilling! I really want an iphone, but way too much for me at this stage, so the price of this one will be the determining factor. Cheers LL

2011-09-07 23:09:00 | Yeah well considering you're paying, what, 1/5th the price of an iPhone? It's pretty damn good value. Naturally you won't get quite a high resolution screen, or same speed CPU, or battery life... but for 1/5th the price, who's complaining right? :D Have you been instore to play with one? I like them personally!

2011-09-08 03:49:00 | I called into our local Vodafone store today and had a look at one. It was only the dummy display one, the guy said they would just order one in if I decided on it. Actually he was very helpful and explained about changing from prepay to on account and also that I could put the sim card out of my old phone into the new one. It is a little smaller than I thought, but it would suit me, I don't do a lot of calling anyway. Still thinking about it. Cheers LL
