| 1229141 | 2011-09-06 11:07:00 | Hi there, We brought a 42inch TV last Nov 2010 and had a Protection Plus on it. Our house was broken into on July 2011 and we were not insured. We are still paying for the TV as we brought it with our Q Card. My husband tried phoning Harvey Norman today and was told to phone the Electronics company where the TV was originally from and then was told to phone Harvey Norman again. Was told by HN that there was nothing they can do as we did not ask for specific insurance to cover the TV. Is this right? or is there something that Harvey Norman is not telling us. Look forward to hearing from anyone who would be able to help us. Meas  |

| 1229144 | 2011-09-06 12:08:00 | GameJunkie ... read the post again ... mtyrell says - we were not insured ! Without having the purchase agreement in front of me to read the fine print, I would suggest that you get a copy and take it to your local community law centre. Having said that, I'm pretty sure that if you buy something from HN on any sort of HP or other time payment, there's usually some sort of insurance included in the T&C's ... however, this may only be related to protection insurance in the event you are unable to make payments due to loosing your job, injury etc. Really need to read the fine print, or if your not confident of being able to understand the legalities ... seek help from someone who knows. |

It costs you nothing and they will be able to give you reliable advise as to exactly what your position is regarding your purchase agreement and what you can/should do. SP8's advice given already is 100 percent correct. |

| 1229148 | 2011-09-06 22:24:00 | No house insurance ?, then you should have had at least Contents insurance, you mention husband, then you no doubt have engagement/wedding rings worth a "bob or two". Needless to say if the tv was an expensive model, then you should have notified your insurance company of that on the day you bought it. Unusual for a retailer to cover goods once inside a residence. Mind you we will be in the same position ourselves, our problem will be the result of ongoing earthquakes, the insurance company/EQC will have run out of money, so tough cheese for us and others' in Canterbury. Lurking. |
