2012-01-25 09:48:00 | Some sites say to run this (if you havent yet) (support.microsoft.com). Thats if it installs. Then reboot. Then see what happens. Make sure you get the right one I tried that and it ran fine but still got the same error trying to install SP1.

2012-01-25 09:54:00 | Having two copies, or listed two copies of IE 9 wont be helping one little bit. Two things I would try, go to programs & features, top left, View installed updates, IE9 will be there in the updates - try uninstalling it. Secondly - Have a read of this (support.microsoft.com) I viewed installed updates but nothing there labeled as IE9 unless its hidden in a KB update :( I tried the fixit on the above link and it did nothing. I tried the manual uninstall and nothing happened. I still have two IE9s with ticks. Their next advice is to do a system restore...*groan*

2012-01-25 10:03:00 | I went back in to windows updates and found IE9... I'm sure it wasn't there before... I must be blind. Upshot is I tried to uninstall it and it said an error had occurred and not all updates could be uninstalled. No error code or anything :( I am now tempted to just bite the bullet and do a complete windows install and be damned with it. | ollieogg (6593) | |
2012-01-26 07:30:00 | Ok I am going to reinstall windows. I am over this SP1 garbage. The problem I can see is that I have put all my books in to Calibre and don't want to lose anything. Can someone tell me how I can save this and what files I would have to save? or even if this is possible to do? My Restores do not go back far enough to do anything good :(

2012-01-26 08:07:00 | Calibre is an EBook reader. Should be a program on the hard disk.

2012-01-26 08:21:00 | Oops should have said what it was ..Duh! Its a programme for my Kindle. I add my books straight in to that and then connect my kindle and I can choose which books I want to upload to my kindle. It will also convert other file formats so I can read them :) Very cool programme. I have spent ages downloading any missing data for each book title, isbn, covers, blurb etc. I would hate to lose it :( | ollieogg (6593) | |
2012-01-26 08:41:00 | To backup Calibre, all you books should be ( for W7) under your Username / Calibre Library. All books and Authors should be listed in their appropriate folders. | wainuitech (129) | |
