| 1229201 | 2011-09-12 02:01:00 | Is there a way to save the IRC address but not as opening at startup? Sort of like bookmarked. I'm using Chatzilla and have another IRC channel that loads at startup Didn't realise could just right click in FF and save link as bookmark |

| 1229202 | 2011-09-12 04:48:00 | True. But there again we already had/have PressF1 chat did we not? Yes, we did, but it's not been up for a wee while now. It used to get quite a bit of traffic, so this is a nice replacement. I pulled ChatF1 offline because it was only getting about one visit every couple of months, generally by people who would log in / out without saying anything - I figured this was a pretty obvious sign that it was time for it to die a natural death. I can put it back online if people want it (it used to be reasonably popular a few years ago), but it's been a long time since it saw any useful level of traffic. My personal opinion is that a chat facility integrated into the main PF1 site has the best chance of being used - anything else has a high enough inconvenience level that I just can't see people bothering, especially now that social networking sites are so ubiquitous. |

Different group of members here now. It was a PF1 virtual reality with bartenders serving up drinks, parties going on and even the occasional dancing on the table tops (won't mention names ...:xmouth:). When the forum went down (which was frequent in those days) the ChatF1 filled up. It may just take a while for your IRC channel to gain momentum. Don't forgot many users here have not used IRC so this would be an initial barrier. |
