[LIST] Half a days pay $50 (ish) doctors consult The morons called politicians. Populous politics. They think by banning this stuff all meth labs will vanish. They forget about the FTA with one of our largest trading partners, China who quite happily supplies NZ with the raw ingredients.. Bet the pollys never que to see a doctor. Improves the morale, brightens the eyes and enhances the brain, unfortunately even a slight overdose tends to pucker the carpet to a hazardous extent causing the odd fall, but serious testing indicates the good outweighs the bad. The usual warnings about operating heavy machinery, firearms, or high performance aircraft, and walking high wires apply. |

| 1229868 | 2011-09-09 12:00:00 | Today while I tried to have an (unpaid did I mention?) nap and recover, husband went to a certain pharmacy to collect it . He was told they couldn't accept it and he had to pay $18 . He paid and then was told they still could not . He made a fuss and they then (after going out back) said they couldn't get hold of my doctor, and it was the wrong form . Ah, if only the cold had arrived earlier . It was available on an ordinary form (not the H572 prescription form) a few days ago, but the recent law change meant that it has to be on a triplicate form . Unfortunately, pseudoephedrine is not a subsidised medication, hence the cost . Normally there aren't any co-payment for controlled drugs, but it is exceptional in this case . Meanwhile I lost my temper and told him to get the prescription (and his money) back and go to another chemist . Finally I have my little pill . All this hassle for a simple cold pill . The pharmacy that you husband first went to had a very good reason why they wouldn't put through the script - that if they get audited, dispensing pseudoephedrine off a normal script can get them into a lot of trouble . The second pharmacy probably took the chance that the doctor would re-write the prescription on an H572 form and post it to the pharmacy at a later date . All because a few people make drugs, the majority now have to suffer . Whats next? Aspirin on prescription? The production of methamphethamine using pseudoephedrine as a precursor was at its all time high a few years ago . The move to restrict the availability of pseudoephedrine to the public probably has resulted in more general benefits than inconvenience . On a sidenote, I am guessing the reason why you have been prescribed pseudoephedrine is for congested nose? Steam inhalation, or the use of short term nasal spray can help symptomatically . Inhalation of Eucalyptus oil or Karvol capsules help too . |
