1229475	2011-09-08 01:36:00	That was a Mark III model. Zephyrs were 6 cylinder cars made by Ford (British) through the 1950s and 1960s. There was the standard Zephyr and a tarted up model called the Zephyr Zodiac. The four cylinder car was a Consul, which couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, and there was a smaller car called a Prefect or Anglia. They all had similar body shapes (apart from the Anglia that had a backward leaning rear window), so they were a family of cars. Dad had a 1953 Mk I Zephyr, followed by a Mark II and then a facelift model Mark II. His last car was a 1963 (maybe 1964) Mark III Zodiac, which was a lovely car, but the best of all was one of the Mk II's (I can't remember which one now), which did an enormous mileage without even having the head off. The local garage reckoned the only tools you needed to work on a Zephyr was a big screwdriver and a ball peen hammer... The driver's door crapped out on most of them. The line ended with the Mark IV, which was a horrible car. Oh, and by the way Joe, you probably think we talk funny because we speak English. He actually owned two of each - one to drive and one for spare parts. I at one time owned a 1956 NSU Prinz and a 1959 Hillman Husky for a while. Sorry 'bout that.	SurferJoe46 (51)
