I don't like the law making distinctions based on race, explain to me how that's not racist? I grew up using expressions I didn't even know could be considered offensive (like calling a hammer a Maori Screwdriver) until I got out into the world on my own, parents should be more careful. The world is full of stupidity and ignorance: Minority groups can't be racist? buy a dictionary White people have no culture? customs and history going back 1000s of years isn't culture? Your racial group makes you Lazy, a criminal, a racist, a wife/child beater, a dole bludger, evil.....? this one is beyond comment Coming from a country where there is a predominant religion means you are guilty of all the worst things about that religion wether you practice it or not? I could go on all day, but it's Just my opinion and I have to accept that doesn't make it truth. Feels like it though. |

I suspect that the greater part of NZ's population would agree with you however there in no news value in that. It is the extremists on both sides of the spectrum that are sensationalised and have their views reported on in the media. |

If you were to substitute" Press F1" for "the world" and "white people" for "people" you would be 100 percent correct. I am unsure wether you class yourself as a pot or a kettle? |

Controversial academic Margaret Mutu says her comments about white immigration cannot be racist because she is not in a position of power . She said Maori cannot be racist against Pakeha in New Zealand if you considered the definition of racism . "Racism is definitely associated with power and using power to deprive another group," she said . "Maori are not in a position of power in this country and therefore cannot deprive Pakeha . " Race Relations Commissioner Joris de Bres earlier said there was no justification for anybody to discriminate on the basis of colour, race or national origin . He dismissed the idea that the ability to be racist depended on a person's position of power . "Racial prejudice is the same whether it come from a Maori or Pakeha . " This woman is really warped, I hope that is not what she is teaching to students . |
