| 1028 | 1998-12-31 22:06:00 | I upgraded my Cyrix 100 Win 95 PC to a Celeron 333 Win 98 PC - all goes well except my dial up connection takes several minutes to connect, before it took 30 seconds. I have tried both the standard generic driver (the standard was used in Win95) and the specific one for my modem. I also cannot play Audio CD?s with my new PC ? this occurred when it operated under Win 95 and Win 98. Both the standard CD player under Win 95/8 and Cyberlink CD wizard will not work. I can plug headphones into the CD ROM drive and I can hear the sound then. It will not play on my desktop speakers. All other sounds ? games included seem to work ok on my speakers. I have checked all volume and mute settings. My new PC has a Voodoo 3D video card. This also shows as a sound card under device manager ? but reports no conflicts. Any Ideas ? |
