1023	1998-12-28 05:00:00	recently down loaded a copy of NetMedic from www.Vitalsigns.com When I open the programme, it gives the following message. 'Your serial port DTE, or Data Terminal Equipment, has not been set for optimal performance for your modem. The baud rate between your computer's serial port and the modem is currently 57600 bps. This can be increased to 115200 to improve performance. Your modem and PC support standard compression' When I check the dialup properties for my modem ( a Dynalink V1333VQE) I see the Maximum speed shown is 57600 bps. There is no higher value available. When I check the settings for Com 2 in the device manager I see the following value. BPS 115200 My questions are Which value is NetMedic referring to? Common sense says that it is the value shown in the device manager dialogue box. But if this the case, why is a higher value not available in the Model properties box? Is this influenced by whether flow control is set for 'Hardware' or 'Software'? In my case the flow control is set to hardware. I also find that when I use the NetMedic 'auto cure' it reports that the changes have been made but the next time that I open the programme, it shows the same message as is quoted above.
