| 1030 | 1998-12-31 06:02:00 | I am having a problem wih frame rates running the Microsoft Combat Flight simulator. The frame rate reduces by about half with the sound going. The read-me file tells me that if the frame rate is low and you have a Yamaha sound card then you should select 'game-compatible device' in the drop-down menu of Preferred Device of the playback section of the Multimedia settings in control panel. My problem is that the only things in the drop down menu I have are 'use any available device' and 'OPL3SA2 playback'. I have tried the add/remove section of the Win 98 set-up to see if varying this would introduce 'game compatible device' but so far no success. Does anyone have any ideas or am I missing something? I have a Pentium 133, 48MB RAM, 3Dfx Voodoo card, Yamaha 16bit sound card and Windows 98. Thanks Darryl Lennane |
