I'm runing Win95B on a 486DX2/66 with a Creative 4x CD-ROM (CD420E unit). After installing Win95 the CD-ROM works fine following boot but refuses to 'read' any new disk put in the tray after ejecting the disk installed at boot. I can trick the system into reading, and updating the data, by launching the CD player so its not a mojor issue .. just a pain. Win95 reloads the Creative CD-ROM driver following any deletion (I do) but checking the reg shows the mscd driver .. not the sbide95 driver. I fixed this once before but can not remember how so would appreciate some assistance. I have, and use Tweakui .. this is not the problem. I have changed the data cable. Win doesn't seem to look at the drive (yet it works on boot ..why?) |
