| 1185 | 1999-02-06 08:25:00 | Last year I bought Diamond's Sonic Impact S70. Ever since I installed it, I had numerous conflicts which I did not attribute to the soundcard. One thing about the soundcard was I discovered from Diamond's homepage that the version I was sold was a non-retail version. Upon every bootup the message (approximately) stated 'updating...upsd', followed by verifying DMI Data Pool', then 'Starting Windows 95'. Recently I received another soundcard as part of a games package. I uninstalled Diamond's card and installed the Yamaha 3D card -which is an ISA type. Ever since this, the 'updating...UPSD' line has disappeared. Is this line supposed to appear at every bootup? and if not, does this indicate a hardware or software problem? |
