1167 1999-02-03 20:17:00 Wanting to upgrade my 233MHZ P2 processor, I consulted my motherboard (MicroStar MS-6117 ATX LX6) manual, and found it would take up to a 333. I purchased a Cleron 333A processor, changed the jumper settings as required, and fired her up. It would not boot, and stopped as soon as the screen came up, indicating a 'MMX CPU 250Mhz'. Someone told me that probably the BIOS (AWARD V4.51PG) did not recognize the Celeron processor, and was only meant to recognize P2's. I admit, the motherboard amnual only mentions P2's. I know the BIOS can be updated, but have searched the net and could find nothing about an updated version. Any help/thoughts? Thanks a bunch! Guest (0)
