| 1278 | 1999-02-22 10:23:00 | When booting up I get a screen advising that 'cannot find a file that may be needed to run Windows or a windows app.' 'the windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device but the device file no longer exists' 'C:\PROGRA~1\SYMANTEC\SYMEVNT.386' and the same message for: 'C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~1NAVAP.VXD If I press a key to continue the computer continues booting up as normal. I have removed a virus scanning program and several others recently using their uninstall programs. Are these prompts reminants of this? How can I get rid of them? I am running Windows 98. |
