1255 1999-02-17 23:02:00 We run a multiuser DOS accounting system on mainly Windows 95 workstations. The accounting system relies extensively on 'beeps' (DOS bell)to warn the user of input errors or other error conditions.

On the majority of workstations the 'beep' does not work or is at best a muffled squawk (these workstations do not have sound cards installed) yet the speaker does work.

Is this a limitation of running DOS applications under 95 or is there some way of getting the 'beep' to work? I seem to remeber that you could load a driver for the speaker under WFW 3.11

TIA
