1280 1999-02-23 13:35:00 I have a Pentium II 233 MHz with an Intel BX mother board running with the last version of Windows 95. The computer is about seven months old. The joystick was initially working, but now it only works sometimes. It just cuts out, and when you go to the control panel it says it is not connected (even though it is). Rebooting will get it working sometimes. The connections are tight enough. I tried three different Joysticks, CH, Logitech, and Microsoft (using the right drivers), and it is the same problem with all of them. When it stops working and I go to the properties button, I get the message

Your came controller is not connected correctly, or can not communicate with your computer. Make sure it is plugged in securely.

Well it is plugged in. Under the Control panel it says the joystick is OK (in the case of Microsoft, with the above error message under properties) or not connected with the other ones. Devise manager still says the port is OK, with no problems or conflicts.

Now all three joysticks can not be faulty. So where is the problem, hardware, software? How can you tell where the fault is? The joystick port is part of the motherboard. Is that the fault (do I need to replace a faulty motherboard). I could try the USB in the Microsoft Joystick, but that means buying Windows 98 (still flaky), and I should not have to resort to that anyway.

Can you get back to me?

All the Best...
