| 1330 | 1999-03-04 09:52:00 | PC World PLEASE HELP!!!!!! I am running Windows 95 and have recently reformatted my hard drive. Before reformatting I could access my CD Rom drive with no problems when pressing F8 on initial computer start up, and running programs in DOS. After reformatting I can no longer do this. I realise that I require the appropriate drivers for the CD Rom, and this I cannot do with any discs I have supplied with my computer. I accessed my CD Rom for Windows installation after formatting, by burrowing a friends boot up disc which got me to the CD Rom drive prompt. When running with Windows loaded I have absolutely no problems acccessing my CD Rom. How do I obtain the drivers to run the CD Rom in DOS (I have a 4x creative Labs CD Rom) and how do I use them to set up the computer for CD ROM access in DOS by pressing F8 on start up????? I also now have trouble in running programs in a DOS session which require extended memory. How do I configure the computer to access extended memory in a DOS session, after pressing F8 at the computer start up. Any help you can give will be much appreciated Darryl Washington d.washington@xtra.co.nz |
