| 1255772 | 2012-01-24 21:14:00 | I've installed the latest Ubuntu two weeks ago. LibriOffice is included in the package and I've downloaded VLC from the Software Center. Since then both applications have been updated their applications. My problem is that when I launch the Update Manager and click Update I'm given the message: your software is up to date. It seems that Ubuntu related stuff gets updated but not "external" software. Do I miss a tick or what do I do wrong? Many thanks for your help. |

More likely is that new versions will come out with the next 6 monthly up-break, and only security fixes will happen for the current release. |

This will be every 6 months. So what you usually do is to just wait until the next release to see that all of your software will be upgraded as well without you having to do anything further. |

Sometimes Ubuntu doesn't even bother updating at all unless there is some big security patch with the program. |
