1255504 2012-01-22 09:13:00 I could cry!!
I downloaded a program from an online photo shop in europe, its to create an online photo album full of photos, this then can be uploaded to the store
(in Europe) and they will print it in a book and send it for you to your loved ones. Anyway..
I have created the album, I have worked on it for 2 days.. When clicking on order, the program said it would collect all photo's selected and then prepare it to upload to the stores server.
The selection process reaches 100% but then it comes up with an error, a message appears that won't allow me to continue, reading the report that came with the error it mentions "EIdsocketerror 10060 connection timed out"
What does it mean and.... how to fix this so I can send it!
Please help!

A "socket error" generally means that you can't connect to a "socket", which is, in computer terminology, often used interchangeably with port. Your error message is consistent with a failure to connect with the server (either your end or their end).

I’d suggest you to turn off email scanning by your anti-virus application. If you’ve Norton Anti-virus Auto-Protect installed on your computer, it provides no additional protection and even Symantec says it's not necessary: Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that are distributed as email attachments. Norton Anti-Virus Auto-Protect scans incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To make sure that the Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have the most recent virus definitions.

You can also try resetting winsock.

No promises.
Do you have anything like Spybot, Zone Alarm or whatever, blocking any ports?

1255508 2012-01-22 17:58:00 Hey guys!
Am SO greatfull for your replies! Yes I do have spybot but I dont have a clue if it would block any ports! I would like to check everything from my side that it works correctly. Yes the internet works correctly. I have tried disabling the ESET firewall and antivirus temporarily but this made not any difference either.
I keep checking this thread.. Any help welcome!
And I will google how to reset the winsock, I have windows 7

1255510 2012-01-22 20:14:00 If the internet is working normally, then the connection as a whole is working OK. If it were damaged, then normally it will stop all internet traffic, not just one protocol.

Can you please post a link to the place you got the program from and tried to upload your photos to -- may give some hints as to others having problems.

Just a thought -- you say you have Eset smart security --- is the firewall set to interactive or automatic filtering mode.

Reason, the error number means : "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or the established connection failed because the connected host has failed to respond."

1255511 2012-01-22 21:53:00 Hi Wainuitech!
Thanks so much for your posts, I have had a look at the ESET firewall, its on automatic filtering mode.

The program itself you have to download from the website, its all in dutch unfortunately but here is the link, I have had a look at there troubleshooting page but could not
find anything. I have logged a message with their help desk :-(

Would it have something to do with the browser am using? (Google Chrome)

1255512 2012-01-22 22:58:00 try setting the Firewall to interactive, you may find it prompts you for something that the auto setting is blocking.

I'll look at the site as well, SWMBO is Dutch, so she can translate :)

1255513 2012-01-22 23:10:00 Some server errors according to the FAQ on their site can be caused by different browsers.

Try using IE or Firefox - although it does say Chrome as a suggestion as well.

It also suggests clearing out the temp files before posting ( run ccleaner)
