1231622 2011-09-16 21:15:00 Hiya, got my Nokia C6-01, first touch phone, installed Swype still doesn't work as I want. Swype also makes the buttons smaller than the Nokia's. Pretty much now I am just using Nokia's predictive texting input. Works better for me I find. At year end may switch back to a keyboard phone. I'll just keep this C6-01 for international travel for its free GPS navigation.

1. Has anyone used a Nokia E72/E5 or the equiv. - how is the keyboard?
I had a Nokia E75 before but they don't make any of those anymore. Like the top E series, the E7 is now a hybrid - touchscreen with a slide out keyboard.

Other than that I am also looking at a Blackberry. I have seen a uni student with a BB Curve, she's probably not on a Account Plan with a BIS/BES add on. I don't need/want the BB software, push-email etc. I just like their phone and the keyboard.
2. Can you install third party software on the BB and go online with prepay?

I don't use online much, heck a year goes pass and I may not use $5 of data :D
It's for calling, texting, typing short notes, calendar, international clocks, alarms, and the odd Tetris. However the odd stuff.co.nz would be nice and the odd email.

3. Can a BB on prepay use the odd Wifi? Or is this blocked too?
4. On the note of games. Out of interest, how good are touchscreen phones. I mean on my E75, I could play a single game of Tetris for > 30mins. Achievable on touchscreen or are last brick movements not possible?
5. Other phones you think I should also consider?

Thanks.

1231624 2011-09-17 21:27:00 Thanks for that, I seen that before, had another read .

It appears it says either Standard Data Plan which allows 3rd party apps or No Data Plan which doesn't . I would presume Prepay's casual data usage is part of a Std Data Plan or is that for Contract users only without the BIS/BES add-on . . . hmm . . . . . . .

Hopefully also if it does work, it is not going to suck out credit continuously for failed attempts as a BB is a always on device .

I don't use it much anyway so it's hardly going to be an issue for me (even if fully disables data) .

I had a look at the E63's etc . . . you could type better on them for me . You can run your hands over it and press the keys with your fingernail but the buttons might be closer together than BBs . . . .

Doubt one could play Tetris on a QWERTY keyboard anyway . It's a lot simpler with the 9 keys (as I had on the E75) .
