1230959 2011-09-14 09:00:00 Here's a guide in PDF format (download.microsoft.com). 2.09mb. Also, if you're using VMware Workstation 7 it will probably fail, since it looks like this version of windows needs ACPI 2 (which this version doesnt support). You need V8 + Speedy Gonzales (78)
1230960 2011-09-14 09:13:00 As for IE.. wtf?? If I wanted a browser that looked that shitty I'd use the PS3 one. Even Chrome makes more sense than that.
When it boots its very quick to the boot page, that IE posted (address bar along the bottom) is from that page. If you carry on into windows then IE is exactly the same as the current IE9.

The way the OS start page is currently laid out its more designed towards touch screens. As you mentioned - Internet kiosk interface :yuck:

1230964 2011-09-14 09:54:00 Looks like the 2nd screen (icow - 0xc0000017 may mean lack of ram). Or one of the sticks are faulty. What are you installing this on? It looks like that 2nd error can also happen if you use different brands off ram, and theyve got different amounts of ram on them Speedy Gonzales (78)

I'm loading it up in VirtualBox now... allocated it 20GB HDD and 1.5GB RAM. Let's see what happens... :punk

Edit  crashing, a lot of crashing... it's not very happy at all haha.

Refer to: blogs.lessthandot.com

I've got it working (Virtualbox on Win7)

Edit: I should note that I got it working on my first attempt, following the instructions in that blog post

1230966 2011-09-14 09:59:00 Hmmm, nope, tried 3 times, always get to the same green screen with enter your name, it doesnt let me enter one and doesnt let me go next. Intel 775 3.4, 2Gb ram, 80G HDD. Fresh install each time.

A waste of 3+ Gig bandwidth :groan:

Might try installing over an XP install sometime and see if that works

1230968 2011-09-14 10:02:00 What do you mean by "doesn't let me enter one"?

They seem to want an email address... otherwise you can go down a bit and choose "Local Account" if you don't want your details stored in the cloud.
