1231375 2011-09-17 03:24:00 So far got it running on a P4 2.8 + 1.5 GB RAMand its going OK with 1.5 gig? - sweet! Tony (4941)
1231376 2011-09-17 03:28:00 It does "lag" on a few things, but have not done anything intense.

Just having a play, installing on a very "low" spec machine -- As they say stay tuned for the result ;)

1231377 2011-09-17 03:37:00 OK, how am I going to restore my dual boot when atm all I have access to is Windows 8? Tony (4941)
1231378 2011-09-17 03:45:00 Well, this is being posted from Internet Explorer 10 (!) within Windows 8 - so some of it is definitely working. I've had it installed for about 60 mins, so this is a very early impression.

Clearly touch-screen oriented, although I'm managing to find my way around with a mouse. The switch between the metro and the classic interface is a bit weird. I hope there is a way to default to one or the other. Most confusing thin? - who to shut down The only way I could find was CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up a screen that gave me a shut down option. I hope I'm missing something.

I installed from the booted DVD rather than within Windows, and now have the PC triple-booted with Win7 and Vista. One interesting thing - I got a quite nice graphical boot boot options screen initially. I changed the default boot to Win7 and now it has reverted to the classic option screen.

Same here. I want the new graphical boot options permanent. It does take longer to boot up using that method though.

1231379 2011-09-17 04:09:00 Well that was fun :D or more of a surprise.

To carry on from post #32. Straight install, straight onto the internet, No AV (wouldn't even try) took 42 seconds from off to fully running (damn sight faster than most XP's of much higher spec) Actually quite good,(better than expected) once again, better than many XP's.

The Spec's with onboard graphics old HP, socket 478 ---????? Surprise indeed (www.imagef1.net.nz) Wouldn't like to use it as a every day PC, be OK with No AV, general browsing and emails.

1231381 2011-09-17 04:30:00 OK, EasyBCD fixed up my XP dual boot, after a couple of hiccups. I was a bit nervous that it wouldn't install on Win8, but no trouble.

Next question - how do I terminate an app on Win8? I've tried some of the games etc, and once they are started, I can't find any way to shut them down.

+1
It seems to suspend them, only way I have found to kill them so far is ctrl/alt/del and end task.
