1255835 2012-01-25 20:15:00 The flatmate here has Snow leopard, and has just shown me the desktop. Its got a windows XP folder on it. Can he boot from it?? Has bootcamp got something to do with it? Or do you need bootcamp, (or something else) to use it? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1255836 2012-01-25 20:36:00 Ok. Managed to find out how to select OS X and windows. You press the option key after you turn it on. But if you select windows, it goes to a black screen. Is it missing something? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1255837 2012-01-25 20:50:00 Info here

1255840 2012-01-25 22:12:00 Also, the software update option on this is looking for akmmm.tpp.ac.nz for the updates, and fails. Probably because its not here. How do you change this?? Or remove it? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1255841 2012-01-25 23:01:00 Got software update working, there was a typo in the plist. Had to delete the frirst h. It had hhttp. Thats why it was timing out Speedy Gonzales (78)
1255842 2012-01-26 00:37:00 Safari, do you know of any programs similar to bluescreenview, that can tell you the possible cause/s of crashing on osx?? Everything else seems to be OK. But this Macbook Pro crashes quite a bit. With kernel panics. I've been here (support.apple.com). It didnt crash in safe boot (while booting into it). AFAIK, its now up to date. That didnt fix the crashing.

The router isnt malfunctioning / its fine. And up to date with the FW. A modem / router (probably) has nothing to do with it. Since, it doesnt have to be connected with wireless or ethernet to crash.

1255843 2012-01-26 05:05:00 Is it a folder or partition? You can't boot from folders... icow (15313)
1255844 2012-01-26 05:07:00 Well there's a folder with the windows files in it. if thats what you mean. And it gives you an option of booting from it (if you restart / hold options key down). Thats what we were trying to boot from Speedy Gonzales (78)
