1255547 2012-01-23 00:23:00 D-link wants to charge me $32 for support because my router is too old (DI-524) and I call them again tonight and their tech support is closed. I called up Belkin on the same age router and they tell me I have a life time support with their router with 7/24 support. Each router is over 5 years old and my network adapter is about 10 years old so I thought I would just go out and buy some up to date stuff. I don't know anything about routers so I thought I would just take the day and get my laptop working. Any suggestions or am I on the right path. lostsoul62 (16011)

This is what he is trying to fix

He just needs to do a reset on the D-link and set it up again but seems reluctant to do that.
Perhaps you can do it for him Speedy

1255550 2012-01-23 00:46:00 Might be a bit hard, (if the wrong info is under the run wizard option) if your Dlink has this. I may not be able to connect, after you reset it. But, I could check it with teamviewer (if you decide to install it). Sounds similar to this telstra modem, telstra gave me. Just after a year, the power adapter for it died (the modem works, I connected the Dlink power adapter to it, it still works). Its no longer under warranty. So, if I want to fix the power, I'll have to buy another adapter. I'll probably chuck it out anyway, and buy a better modem/router Speedy Gonzales (78)
