After downloading a self extracting file with the extention .exe using Netscape Communictor 4.5 I get a splash screen saying that IH32.exe cannot find the application to open this file. If I then associate a program like WinZip by going to Prefences/Options/Applications I end up with a major problem. I then can no longer open any of my programs from the Desktop or by using Explorer with out using WinZip. If I go back and delete the association I still cannot procede as it asks for an application to open my *.exe program. I had to reinstall Windows to get back to normal. Was there an easier way? |
