Be wary of loading Dos Games on Win 95. For grandson tried to instal 'A Bridge To Far', it tried to alter the graphics card settings, would'nt instal, crashed another programme, created over 300 .chk files on the Root Disk, created errors that Desktop Scandisk could'nt remove, defrag would not operate.Oh woe was me.After copying .chk files (11.2 Mb)to a Zip disk, deleted them all, tried Scandisk Standard from C,File, Properties, Tools, this created 2 copies of .chk files which had already been deleted, got a no disk error report, run defrag went to 100% OK.Reinstalled crashed programme, system back to normal.Exact cause, good question. |
