1615 1999-04-14 23:14:00 Hi, I have had problems with Cloktest which i downloaded from your site. I followed instructions and created a boot disk with the cloktest files on it then cold booted with the disk. It came up with an error that my CMOS battery failed - the motherboard is only 2 years old so i would be surprised if that was the case. Anyway, the PC froze at this stage so I rebooted. The disk continued with the test then restarted Windows. When looking in explorer one of my hard drives had disappeared. I then rebooted and entered CMOS and redetected the hard drives which fixed that problem. However whenever I start Windows I get the following message after the Verifying DMI data line ... 'Your previous MSDOS files were not found. MSDOS startup failed.' I run Win98 and the starting windows 98 line normally appears instead of this line. I have checked both config.sys & autoexec.bat & these have not been altered by Cloktest. When running safe mode and looking in the performance tab under System I am running DOS mode drivers - there are no DOS drivers in either my Config.sys or Autoexec.bat.

Where is the startup looking to get this message at startup and how are DOS drivers being loaded when there is nothing in the config.sys or autoexec.bat files?
