1257279 2012-02-04 03:51:00 I have been receiving e-mail messages from a friend overseas (Holland) much later than when he sent them. So, for example, he sent a message on Tuesday and I didn't receive it until Saturday. This has happened many times in the past week. It seems that I do not have any problems with other mail currently, although I couldn't connect with my server on Thursdaynight. My internet connection is up and running yet these messages arrive late. His server is Ziggo. Lidy (16699)
1257280 2012-02-04 03:58:00 This may sound silly, but how do you know that you are receiving the emails late?

Have you been talking to him via telephone and/or Skype and he has said that he sent you something?

It could be that the date/time set-up on his PC (or yours) is incorrect :(

Mind you, I had a glitch with a couple of emails to a friend in California earlier this week, so maybe the goblins are indeed running riot out there in cyberspace :)

1257281 2012-02-04 04:54:00 My inbox shows the time of arrival yet my friend's message of course shows the date of sending. Just now I received several messages that had been sent between Thursday and last night (Holland time) which is Friday and early this morning NZ time. Lidy (16699)
1257282 2012-02-04 05:23:00 Check the headers in the "raw" message. (Ctrl-U in Tbird)
There will be a Received: line for each server it has passed through, along with a timestamp.
You can then see where the delay is occurring.

1257283 2012-02-04 07:29:00 Yeah, maybe the time / date on his computer is wrongly stating the letters were composed days ago. Paul.Cov (425)
1257284 2012-02-05 00:36:00 Or they are late.
Maybe their mail server had an issue and is now catching up...it happens.

1257285 2012-02-05 22:02:00 Xtra has found out that something has been going wrong on the other end. My friend's messages arrive at his server (Ziggo) yet then there's a delay before it gets to yahoo/xtra.
I thought the problem had been solved after I informed my friend but this morning there was another message 3 days overdue. Hope Ziggo is going to get their act together.
Thanks for your responses. Great!

1257286 2012-02-06 21:14:00 This has been happening, on & off , with Xtra(Yahoo) for years.
Ive seen it with my Xtra/yahoo mail , with mail send to & from my work email adress.
