1257028 2012-02-02 09:25:00 I have an email program, Free Agent, in a thumb drive. One problem is that it is not always allocated the same drive letter, so a shortcut doesn't always work. I would like the program to open as soon as the drive is plugged in.
How can I do this? I will make sure that USB auto drive is turned on in Windows 7,

1257029 2012-02-02 18:40:00 You may have to make, or add the path and the freeagent.exe to the autorun.inf file. Since thats what opens whatever up on a cd (probably the same as a USB flash drive). This may or may not make the letter stick for the flash drive

1257030 2012-02-04 00:37:00 Windows 7 doesn't allow autorun from removable drives. You can do it under XP but not windows 7.
It's a security feature to help prevent the spread of malicious software.
Otherwise speedy was on the right track, you just need to edit the autorun.inf file. You can also change the icon and name of the flash drive by editing it.
