| 1232811 | 2011-09-21 07:58:00 | We often see Obese people on Tv, immobilized and dying. Meanwhile some idiot is providing them with food to kill themselves with. Why is it not a criminal act to supply an obese person with excessive food which is the cause of the problem? They should face a possible man slaughter, or even murder charge. |

Their bodies don't know what to do with it, because they are both malnourished. You cannot give a starving person a "decent meal" because their stomach would reject it. With an obese person, they are malnourished too, because they haven't been having the correct diet for a long time, and were eating the wrong sort of foods. Eg, lacking in vitamins and nutrients. That is why some really obese people die, because they are malnourished. Obese people need help and education in controlling what they eat, and need to be given encouragement to change their lifestyle. LL |

I have been offered food now and then, it's quite easy to say No Thank You and not stuff everything in sight in my face. I have to say, all the surgeries, camps and whatever, there were no fat people in POW camps and so on in the war when food was restricted. |

| 1232819 | 2011-09-21 22:37:00 | These people are incapable of getting food for themselves, so someone is in charge and is feeding them. If they were given a healthy diet they would lose weight. As pctek says, you don't find many obese people in prison camps, African & Asian countries. No money, can't afford it. I agree that the Obese person has an addiction to food, but I think that it would be criminal to support the addiction which will eventually kill them. As for surgery, if they pay for it Ok, but I have a feeling that the Tax payer will end up footing the Bill! |
