| 1928 | 1999-05-20 10:55:00 | In Carla Thornton's article (May 1999 issue of PC World)I read about Dan Terry's problem that sounds dangerously like mine... I run an old P-75 Compaq Presario 5522 with a HP Scanjet 5P attached. Apart from the HP scanning software there is also Paperport program installed. The message 'mpr.dll file cannot start' will appear after 2-3 hours of the PC standing idle when I try to open any program. Rebooting clears the problem. I checked the power management setup, but the article by Carla points to the scanning software interfering with the DLL file. Is there a way to overcome this problem without disabling the whole scanner software? The problem occurs whether or not the scanner is on, it is obviously software-related. |
