| 2193 | 1999-06-20 10:38:00 | I deleted netscape by the uninstall feature in Windows 98 (Control panel) and then deleted what was left through my root directory in windows. Now when I restart my computer, or it does it itself, the machine doesn't finish the set up by itself and I get the following messages: 'Can not find a device file that may be needed to run windows or a windows application' 'The windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this devise file, but the device file no longer exists.' 'If you deleted the file on purpose, try uninstalling the associated application using it's uninstall and setup program.' I then get the name of the file, followed by the same message for 3 other files. The files all have the same beginning: c:\nestcape\system\vntstimd.exe \vtcprac.386 \pdwcomm.386 \dial.386 When I go to the uninstall feature through control Panel - add/remove programmes and try to uninstall netscape navigator I get this message: 'Unable to locate the installation log file 'c:\navigator\delsLi.isu' uninstall will not continue. How do I get this right so the machine boots up on its own without stopping until I have to manually skip those start up error messages? |
