On a semi regular basis my 10x CD ROm fails to autostart when I put a disc into it and when I try to start it from My Computer I get the message 'device not ready', retry or cancel. Sometimes if I put the disc in several times it will work, others not. I go to device manager and it says this device is working properly. I have had this problem on and off for some time, however, I have upgraded EVERYTHING in my system in the last 6 months so I can't figure it out. I even had my supplier relace the CD ROM TWICE now. Are there any diagnostic tools that will tell me more than the Device Manager? Would software conflicts cause this problem? Curiouser and curiouser. |
