| 1258363 | 2012-02-09 23:09:00 | I live in a concrete house which has limitations on wireless coverage. I have been using the Telecom supplied Thomson TG585 but get continual dropout of service - even though my laptop and wireless printer are less than 2 metres away. The Telecom Broadband Assist program tells me I have a very low signal. I have replaced the modem with another TG585 but same result. I suspect they are poor quality and worth about what I paid for it (nothing). Have you a test on any suitable extended range wireless modems currently available? The forum doesn't yield anything current. | Brian Keene (16070) | ||
| 1258364 | 2012-02-09 23:25:00 | Hi Brian, It's the crappy TG585, those things are *notorious* for that kind of behaviour. Get rid of them. Get yourself something like the Netcomm NB6Plus4Wn, it's a small investment but well worth the money, for your time and your sanity! Cheers Chill. |
