| 1258241 | 2012-02-09 04:54:00 | Hey everyone, I want to find a quick way of getting a new IP address from my ISP. My router is a Dynalink RTA1320V6 running version 3.65p firmware. Even the slow process of rebooting the router does not seem to fix this. Any advice? Notes: I am with Slingshot and I am 90% sure I do not have a static IP |

I think by spoofing another MAC address the ISP might think it is another device and give a different IP but I am not sure it is possible on my router. Maybe I will have to connect to the broadband directly with my computer to allow this... Some ISP's charge for a static ip. You can use a static ip within a network (if thats what you mean). Just change the ip under the network adapter This isn't what I am asking. |

| 1258246 | 2012-02-09 05:24:00 | There is no way to force an IP address change from your end. If you are on a dynamic IP address it will change at a schedule set by your ISP. You can try completely disconnecting the Phone line and power cycling to try and make the exchange end refresh but it may not make a difference, sometimes my IP address stays the same for days when I've bothered to check. Why would you need a different IP address?, someone got that one banned from something? You could try these tips whatismyipaddress.com |
