| 1234303 | 2011-09-29 00:09:00 | I've had my old Dynalink RTA 1025W wireless router for years (since when I transferred everything to Telstra). So a) Is this a good deal (dicksmith.co.nz)? b) Am I likely to notice any sort of performance improvement with it? Thanks |

| 1234304 | 2011-09-29 01:25:00 | I changed to a Netgear Router ( connected to a Telstra cable modem, different router to this one, but it is a N300 I have), and there was a bit of improvement, but keep in mind its still only going to allow the maximum that is delivered Via your connection currently. So if you have a slow feed now it wont change. If you were going to get it, just be very careful as when you click on the Shop now, and add it to your cart, it still shows the price of $229 |

| 1234305 | 2011-09-29 01:32:00 | If it is a Netgear DGN2200 I think it is a good deal. The photo is of a DGN2200 (a modem router). However in DSE's specs for it they say it has 5 ethernet ports (1 WAN, 4 LAN) which points it to being a router only; no modem. I have been trying to confirm with them that it is their port description that is the mistake. If the ports are correct then the photo and title of the box is wrong. If it is a DNG2200 the wireless will definitely be faster than your old Dynalink under ideal conditions. Wainuitech - The $99 price doesn't kick in until 7pm this evening. |

AvonBill -- thanks, didn't bother reading that advertising :D they still have the wrong descriptions for the picture though. |

HI Guys Looks like they might have some disgruntled customers if they're not careful with this particular bit of advertising. Perhaps they've been taking lessons from Vodofone's advertising bods! :) Thanks for the input |

| 1234310 | 2011-09-29 03:38:00 | Telstra Clear must have the wrong advert as will. www.telstraclearshop.co.nz :) So, does the "*Not compatible with Cable Broadband Customers*" on the Telstra ad mean that you have to be receiving your broadband traffic from you isp totally wirelessly? My BB comes in thru a cable and all I want is the "wireless" bit to be the connectivity between the laptops, printer etc inside the house. So it's no good for that? |

| 1234311 | 2011-09-29 04:01:00 | The One Telstra are advertising is a ADSL modem/Router (N300 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router (DGN2200) The picture on DSE site is the same picture, but the description is wrong for the model, Teh description is for the Cable Router. If you have Telstra Cable (has a Motorola Modem) then the one at DSE being ADSL wont work. Heres why --- have a look at the ports on the ADSL From Telstra (www.telstraclearshop.co.nz) click on the rear view -- the smaller white port on the right is where the phone line goes in, BUT if you have a Cable modem Then you need a Cable Router Netgears Site - click on Product specs (www.netgear.co.nz) - notice the Yellow port -- that will go to the Telstra Modem (see attached Picture) sorry for the quality The camera was beeping with a Low battery :D So, does the "*Not compatible with Cable Broadband Customers*" on the Telstra ad mean that you have to be receiving your broadband traffic from you isp totally wirelessly? No -- Telstra have two types of connections. 1. Cable -- As I have and pictured. 2.ADSL The one thats pictured on the Telstra site is for ADSL. If you have a look at the Router I have, the blue light is the wireless ( doesn't have an aerial) |
