1234262 2011-09-28 08:08:00 Doesn't sky pickup the extra channels automatically? icow (15313)
1234263 2011-09-28 08:10:00 Yup.

Freeview (www.freetv.co.nz)

And the decoders are cheaper than the UHF alternative. :D

I think your meaning using the actual sky box, am i right?

If so, probably not.

1234265 2011-09-28 09:56:00 You can use a Sky dish with a separate Freeview box, yes, but the channels you receive are not in HD. You need a UHF aerial to get HD.

It sounds like you are looking for a way to re-align a Sky decoder that is not working with Sky - to Freeview? As far as I know you can't use a Sky decoder to receive and display the channels from Freeview itself (if the decoder is live and subscription is paid you would get them all anyway via Sky).

1234266 2011-09-28 09:57:00 You still have to pay for the decoder rental from Sky, and then you can pick up the free channels. But no, you can't use the decoder without an active Sky account and card. If you disconnect, they will come and take the decoder away anyway, so how do you even have one? ryanjames.powell (13554)

Probably picked one up from Trade Me (www.trademe.co.nz) lol

1234268 2011-09-28 19:46:00 Yes the dish seems to work fine with a Freeview decoder. (Stopped Sky subscription recently and they took the box back and left the aerial. Picked up a cheap Freeview decoder, hooked it up, and now everything works fine with the Sky dish.) ellpow (16400)
