| 1233942 | 2011-09-27 18:40:00 | www.stuff.co.nz Exactly what I hate about large IT projects. Always a stuff-up. I noticed last week actually - tried to access the Companies site...............gone...............it's reached international IT news, they're making rude comments. |

The *sole* reason I've seen for that kind of thing: A persons pride Somebody along the line was too proud to say "You know what, I actually don't know the answer to this, and rather than BS my way through it, I'm going to get help or step aside and let somebody else do XYZ". Every single time! |

| 1233949 | 2011-09-28 01:02:00 | Somebody along the line was too proud to say "You know what, I actually don't know the answer to this, and rather than BS my way through it, I'm going to get help or step aside and let somebody else do XYZ". Every single time! One very good exception. (from memory...a while back...dont quote me on this...) John Banks , as Minister Of Police, refused to approve that big Police computor system upgrade as he knew nothing about this sort of thing. Later approved by other Minister , & we all saw what a debacle that turned into. You knew it was going to be a fizzer when they where justifying spiraling costs by saying we can sell the software to other countries to make some $$ Yet govt depts & local councils learnt nothing from this & seem hell bent on repeating the mistake. :badpc: |

| 1233950 | 2011-09-28 02:32:00 | BS is the Gov'ts stock in trade, but if we have to lose sites, the Government ones are the least important ones in the webiverse. Just a pity that so many of their other sites didn't go out in sympathy (Yet). | R2x1 (4628) | ||
