The Toshiba Tab was real nice, but given the choice I'd still take the Transformer. It *felt* like I should be pulling out the Stylus every single time I used the Thinkpad. I'd take it any day over the Acer Iconia, Motorola Xoom, or Apple iPad2, but I still prefer the Transformer personally.

1233985 2011-10-03 03:05:00 Did you buy a regular Kindle or ship a Kindle Fire?

I got the cheapest new kindle model, which is actually the only new one currently available outside the states (well as of last thursday). Basically very similar to the keyboard model available through dicksmiths but cheaper and with a reduced feature set. Still great for reading books. (no keyboard, wi-fi only, 1.3G storage, smaller battery, no text to speech or mp3 support, $171 nzd approx direct from amazon)

The fire can only be pre-ordered in the US at present, but I'm sure you could get around that with a bit of deviousness or a contact in the US.
