That isn't the way things work, that would be narrow and discriminatory. It will just be dearer for non-Maori, which gives a wider revenue base and is only a tiny bit discriminatory. ;) |

Soon it will be the air we breath as well and you wont be able to fly from one place to another without paying Maori to travel through their air space (unless you are Maori of course, then it is all free). |

Why should they get all the bonuses, preferences, benefits, discounts, just because of their race? It's disgusting, and does nothing to improve equality! We have stupidly retarded things like this, as well as things like Ka Hikitia in our schools which again means that if you're Maori you get special treatment because by and large your parents don't care as much about being involved in your education (So its up to the teachers to do extra to encourage them to be involved) and that the dying language of Maori is now forced upon all kids. Yes, Maori families should be encouraged to be more involved, but if that's their culture to not be as involved in their kids learning and education, that's their choice. Why should the NZ Government / Education system feel it's their responsibility to change a races culture? Do we now need to change the culture of all the Asian races that are here and force them to use a knife and fork instead of chopsticks? Or what about the Polynesian cultures who like to go to church on a Sunday, is that now the Governments responsibility to educate them about other possible religions? ...And now they're getting special treatment over high speed internet access?! Since this now has the stupid new law imposed on it, and most people have a data cap imposed on their connection anyway, I fail to see why we all apparently need 100Mbit fiber optic connections! |
